Facebook, the leading social networking company, announced a new initiative to provide free Wi-Fi service in some public places (stores, hotels...) in partnership with the American company Cisco, which is considered the number one globally in the level of network equipment.
Facebook gives you free WiFi in partnership with Cisco
And Facebook announced this new project in partnership with Cisco, and said that it will be under the name Connected Mobile Experience for Facebook Wifi (CMX), and that experiments on this project have been launched .
But, of course, Facebook will not do all this for free, as in exchange for anyone benefiting from the free WiFi service, he must first determine his location (hotel, restaurant, shop) on his Facebook page, which is considered an advertisement that the site that provides a service will benefit from. Wifi.
In addition, the beneficiary of the free Wi-Fi service will be required to give personal information about him such as (age, gender and mother tongue) and other information that will allow Facebook to obtain more audits, especially with regard to its policy in the field of targeted advertising.
Although Facebook and Cisco announced that they guarantee the protection of personal data in this project, the (legitimate) fears are in any case justified, especially after the growing talk about the interference of global intelligence services in the personal lives of citizens via the Internet in collusion with international companies. Those concerns were renewed after Apple announced the fingerprint recognition technology in its new iPhone 5S.
It seems that Facebook's policy to control the joints of the global Internet is still going on, and this project may be part of the Facebook plan that we heard about a short time ago in order to provide Internet connectivity to all the world's population.
